  • Set aside about $2,083.33 per month for 12 months to reach your goal.
  • Automate a transfer to a separate high-yield savings account on each payday.
  • Revisit the plan as deposits come due — vendors are usually paid across the whole engagement, not all at the end.

Treat these as ballpark figures to plan and order against — your venue and vendors will have the exact numbers.

How this is calculated

  • Remaining to save = target budget − amount already saved.
  • Monthly amount = remaining ÷ months until the wedding.
  • Per-paycheck and per-week figures assume ~4.35 weeks per month.
  • Vendor deposits are usually spread across the engagement, so front-load a little.

Every figure here is a well-worn planning rule of thumb, not a quote — use it to budget early, then lock in real numbers as you book.

Frequently asked questions

How much do I need to save each month for my wedding?

Subtract what you've already saved from your total budget, then divide the remainder by the number of months until your wedding. This calculator does that for you and also breaks it down per paycheck, per week, and per day so you can pick a cadence that fits your pay schedule.

Why does it show a per-paycheck amount?

Many people are paid every two weeks, so saving on payday is easier to stick to than a monthly lump sum. The per-paycheck figure assumes a biweekly schedule (about 26 pay periods a year), making it simple to automate a transfer each time you're paid.

Should I save the whole budget before the wedding?

Not necessarily all at once. Vendors are usually paid across the engagement — a deposit to book, then balances as dates approach. Revisit your plan as payments come due so you're saving toward the deadlines that actually matter.

Where should I keep my wedding savings?

A separate high-yield savings account works well: it keeps the money out of your everyday spending, earns a little interest, and stays easy to access when deposits are due. Automating the transfer on payday removes the temptation to skip a month.
